July is high season in northern Michigan for good reason: there is so much to do. Here are a few items that we think will top your list during those four days.
>The Inn - The central gathering place for everyone to hang out. What's more fun than a beach party? There is a closet full of sporting goods and a great big green lawn with your name all over it, so challenge the bride and groom to a round of bocce or play croquet with your new friends.
>Water - Swimming and paddling at the Inn, nearby Lake Michigan beaches.
>Boating - The deep, protected, green waters of Grand Traverse Bay are just a few hundred feet away. Suttons Bay has a boat landing and charts are available here.
>Towns - Suttons Bay, Leland, and Traverse City are a few of the coolest towns in Michigan. What would a hot summer night be without a trip to a local ice cream stand? Take an afternoon and go exploring or make your way there...
>Cycling - You can count on the bride and groom being up for a ride, so hop on one of the inn's bikes and cruise along the shore on MI-22 or climb over the hill to the Lake Michigan side of the Leelenau Peninsula.
>Fun & Games - Biking, volleyball, croquet, dune-climbing, you name it.
>Golf - Bring your clubs for some outstanding courses, including Palmer-designed King's Challenge. (Check out this list)
>Wine - Leelenau and Old Mission peninsula wineries are close at hand and make a great afternoon for adults. (Check out MichiganWines.com)
>Cherries - Our wedding weekend is the last four days of the National Cherry Festival, an eight-day event to celebrate & promote cherries, tourism and community involvement, and to enhance the economic, entertainment, and cultural interests of the Grand Traverse region.
